Speaker Repair

About seven years ago I received an amp that got crushed in shipment. I still have two 10" blue Fane speakers from that disaster. Both buzz from the magnet being knocked off center and into the cone -- one terribly, the other moderately. I love the replacements. They're great speakers: alnicos rated to 100 watts, they're very chimey and fat and hold up great without flabbing.

I emailed Ted at WeberVST to see if they can be fixed. He said that they are out of this business as of the first of this month. Does anyone know if the damage can be repaired? Does anyone else do this kind of work? Any idea of what is would cost?

I'm not understanding how the magnets can be knocked off center. Do you mean the voice coils were knocked off center (more likely). Do they look like this:

If so, a re-cone job should fix the buzzing.

Yep, they're. AXA10s. I have no idea how speakers are constructed and what's liable to fail. All I know is what I've been told: the buzz is coming from the coil rubbing against the magnet. So if it's the voice coil that's off, there ya' go.

If a recone would fix this, where should I go? Anyone have any ideas?
