    Beautiful work!

I love the quilt and pickup rings. Just the inspiration I need to forge ahead with a project.

Wow, what a great looking axe. Beautiful work. I love the wood you picked out for the neck too. That grain pattern in it is gorgeous. Congrats.

Are these AWESOME results done with the ReRanch/Minwax combo you talk about on your site?

What color of dye (and was it water or oil based) did you use on ol' Grace, there? I can't believe that a finish that awesome can be paid for for under $50. Tell us more!

    Gracie's finish ...

There are 3 key things about Gracie's finish ...

    1. Good Wood! WD Music body with a high degree of quilt-flames

    2. compatible shades of water based Guitar ReRanch stain - this was a blend of different shades. First, a base coat of bright "whore" red was wiped on ... then a blend of red, amber and black, which produced a luscious brunette shade ... the rest is eye candy

    3. careful wipes of gloss Min Wax Wipe On polyU

Ooops, forgot - cost of the finish (besides the elbow grease and time) adds up to about $27 ... pint can of gloss Min Wax polyU (you MUST use this stuff - NOTHING else will work as well), a few packets of water based stain, a sleeve of 0000 steel wool, a super clean 100% cotton T-shirt (for the wiping tampons), a box of surgical gloves. What'd I leave out? I think that's about it.
