    50's Esquire Reissue

Has anyone here tried one, or own one of these? I would like to get some opinions. I can't find one locally to try.

If you mean the new MIM model, it's just come out. Seems silly to me, it's just a Classic 50's Tele with one pickup and Esquire wiring.

Yeah, but for me it just seems like a natural progression. I have a 52 reissue & a 72 thinline reissue, and I've been jonesing for an Esquire since I talked to Joe Bonamassa & he said he actually prefered the tone over a tele.

I've built two of them using mostly original parts from 1950 Champion Lapsteels, both weigh 6lbs apiece, PU, pots, 3 way CRL switch and caps, nail the original tone.

I'm interested in one too. I wouldn't be capable of converting a 50s MiM into an Esquire with the right wiring and all that. I hope the local shop brings one in. btw, those are pretty awesome looking, Plankspanker. :yay

haha yeah... i'm still skeptical. Do you have a link to a wiring diagram for a Telecaster and then for an Esquire or something, to see the difference? I'm a bit clueless as to what it all entails...

In any case, i'm interested in an Esquire, wether I buy it like that or convert a Tele.

I tried one today. Very surprized at its awesome twangabilty

The neck position on the switch was muddy, middle nice, and bridge was incredible twang. Yes I know its one PU, but I am jsut refering to the switch.
