The best thing about my holiday being over is being able to get back to my music collection, there is some mighty fine craft going on in some of the disney songs, and I had an astoundingly good time (not quite as good as my six year old!) but this song is making me realise the difference between a crafted piece of music and one that comes straight from the heart.
(The woman who sang 'Circle of Life' in the Lion King stage show out there had a voice! So my time was not entirely bereft of musical pleasure, she could sing the Yellow Pages and raise the hair on the back of your neck)

A friend of mine works at the local "originals only" club. He's brought some interesting music by to share, from Gillian Welch to Bobby and all points in between.
It was really special for me to hear Bobby's solo stuff 30 years after it had such an impact on me from the Layla album.

Thats a cool thing Piester, Bobby Whitlock has a voice and a talent that should have bestrode continents, much like the Clapton. I have a great and fairly recent video clip from Japanese TV of Bobby and Eric jamming, and there is a bit of special extra majic when those guys start bouncing off one another.
