They look great, but are a bit expensive...
Does titanium sound different than steel?
Joe
Thanks for the link, I will check them out. Doesn't any one make normal stell ones like these? I think the CS makes them but won't sell them aftermarket.
Actually, I paid more than THAT for 'em; I got both the saddles and the block from DeTemple. . .
The ones from DeTemple are made by KTS.
The Custom Shop makes (or made) a 2-point trem with vintage saddles, but the saddles screws weren't offset like on the KTS or AmStds. The saddles were the same as vintage style (might have been narrower for smaller string spacing but I'm not sure). Its the tremolo plate that has the saddle screw holes in a different location. For some reason, no aftermarket comany makes this. I really don't know why. I asked Callaham and he said he would make it eventually but that was probably a year ago and still no news.
Also, you can't buy the trem from the custom shop. They are on eBay every so often but they sell for a LOT of money because they only came on the Classic Player's Strat (I think).
It sucks because I had a great AmStd strat but I just didn't like the saddles on it. I ended up selling it and I'm currently building another Strat.
Thanks!
Joey
Wilko,
That is the ugliest guitar I have ever seen.
If William Shatner wasn't fat with the onset of gout, went back in time and filmed the "guitar from shitland monster" flick with Rod Serling narrating, your guitar would be the centerpiece..... :toobad
:rofl Seriously, Strats have always been appealing when painted in the auto company colors of the fifties and early sixties. I like your pink/raspberry Strat, but especially love the cream colors and of course, surf green. The buckers give that guitar an untamed look!

When I first got my 88 Strat I got such a good deal on it at a pawn shop I didn't care what the color was. It was a weird color I have never seen on another, a muddy green/gray/pewter metallic color! Have you ever seen one like it?
I'm in with pink Strats

I must not understand. Are you asking for stainless saddles?Originally Posted by thebisch
No, I am asking for vintage style saddles with an off set intonation screw to fit on a American Standard bridge.
Tone is in the fingers, eh? Let's hear your Vox, Marshall and Fender fingerings then...
That is exactly what I want, but if you notice, those do not have the offset intonation screws. Those saddles wouldn't work on a AmStd bridge. That bridge plate is different from an American Standard. It has the intonation screw holes in a different spot than an AmStd. That bridge is from a CS Classic Players Strat, and Fender will not sell you that bridge. All that needs to be done is to make vintage style saddles with the screw hole off to the side insted of the middle. The link to the titanium made parts has exactly that, but I don't really want titanium, not to mention they are close to $100. Why no one has just taken regular steel vintage style saddles and put the hole in the correct spot for an AmStd bridge is beyond me. Who ever does this will sell a ton of them.
That's pretty much what I thought. I kind of lost interest in pursuing the whole thing once I learned that Fender would not sell the entire bridge separately (though I think that, for a brief period, they did just that).
