    Warmoth vs. Fender

What do you guys think of the Warmoth replacement/custom strat parts? I've built a few strats with their parts, but I'd like your opinions on their 'correctness' and similarities to vintage and new production Fender parts.

    Thanks!

I've seen/played some really nice guitars built out of Warmoth parts. If you get one, might as well plan on keeping it longterm, tho. They have shit resale value usually.
This has been a famous mortimer production

For all of the Warmoth stuff I built, I did it to play, not to re-sell. I just can't seem to find Fender production guitars that have the same feel as the Warmoth guitars.

I'll take some pics of my guitars and let you guys take a look.

Patnt - I'd like to check yours out.

I like Tommy at USA Custom Guitars. He's an ex Warmouth guy who is as nice and honest as they come! He's another Dave Rodgers type.

The Jazz Bass shown in the link below is made of wood from him.

I used to only deal with Tommy when he was at Warmoth. When I worked retail, he always made sure I got the primo stuff. He always gave me a good deal too.

I accidentally called Warmoth asking for him, and they weren't too happy. I didn't know he had moved to USA Custom. Oh well. Maybe I'll try their stuff.

He's good people. He should be forum certified! :-)

He seems to have lots of large pieces of high end ash for one piece bodies.

His headstocks have a bit of extra material on them for liability reasons. This is easily removed.

    Warmoth necks?

How are the necks? as far as quality, etc. and what is the fret work like??

    Warmoth Necks

The quality and fretwork are excellent. I've heard that the USA Custom necks are every bit as good. Either way, you can't go wrong.

They are a top notch outfit and will do it right. Take the time to explain exactly what you want. Their stuff is the best IMO. The necks are the finest I've used.
