URGENT NEED OF SPERZEL TUNER INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS!

Sorry about this. I normally wouldn't do this, but I'm in desperately need of some assistance in installing Sperzel tuners.

Which ones go for the low E? Highest Sperzel tuner or lowest? I need to need the order, because I don't have any instructions or point of reference!

    Many thanks!

    There are three different heights.

The two tallest ones go closest to the fretboard for the E and A strings. The next two tallest are for the D and G strings. And the two shortest ones are for the B and E strings. Good luck. Have fun.

I'll bet that if you do a Google search, you'll probably be able to find instructions along with pics. Just a thought.
    They're REAL anyway.....

I beg to differ with the order, T-B:
    Tallest E,A
    Shortest DG
    Middle BE

I just put a set on my Reverend, and Joe Naylor said "Regardless of what anyone tells you, it goes like this..."

And it does. Worked like a dream.
Look at the string retainer...it makes sense.
Strats and Mustangs and Coronados...OH MY!

showbox22, I tried, but nothing useful could be found, which is the reason I posted this thread here.

IPLAYLOUD, too late. They're installed and it was a nerve-wracking experience, since it was the first time I was installing tuners myself. Now that they're installed and working perfectly, I see no point in stressing myself out further by monkeying around with something that works.

But thanks for the input. :)

I can see the merit in what IPLAYLOUD is saying although I've never seen tuners installed that way.

Well, Sperzel tuners are designed to be used without a string retainer. So the "correct" way to install them is exactly as T-B mentioned. If you install them on a guitar that has a string retainer for the E & B strings, it makes sense to install them the way you say.

I'm willing to bet that no one could tell the difference in operation either way.....

So, throw them on and make some music!

Follow TBs directions as they are correct. I just installed a set on my Tele and I also use string retainers and it still works -- albeit with a little difficultly....

If you need any assistance give me a holler....

I installed a set on my son's strat, and removed the string retainer - it isn't needed.

Re: URGENT NEED OF SPERZEL TUNER INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS!

not to be devil's advocate here, but this is how i install my sperzels...

there are 3 heights, tall, medium, short.

from high E to low E i install them like this:

tall, medium, short, short, medium, tall.

i don't care what sperzel or anyone else says. there is not enough downward pressure on the nut from the g string on to remove the tree. i do however replace the regular tree with an american standard or rolling string tree. also, i wrap on the tuners. all the way to bottom of the spun down part of the tuner.

i don't know if that makes sense to you, but i swear it works.

best of luck on your project.
