Got my new Kent Armstrong Tweed Tones!

Great pickups. Put them in the FMT Strat last night.

Just to show you how each set of pickups are different, the Strat I gave my son has the same pickups in it and to get the same sound I had to adjust them significantly lower. But I now have that sweet vintage, but with added warmth sound I know and love!

Kent makes some great pickups. I'm looking forward to hearing those.

Well. I have 2 new guitars.. the new American Series is staying home... the FMT is coming with me.. You you will hear the new pickups. But I had the old guitar at the last jam, and it has the same pickups in it.

    Hey photo,
I'm goin' to be building an ash bodied strat w/rosewood board. Do ya think those KA Tweed Tones would be a good choice?

I love them, I have 2 Strats with them in there. I think they are a great choice.

I'm thinking about building a Sager Tele kit and I'm going to stick KA Tele pickups in it.

Oh yea, and Chucko... I just got back my custom Python strap from being shortend to fit me.. I've got everything I need on this guitar now!!!

Here is a write up on the strap... of course the guitar in the review is MINE NOW aas well as the strap!

It's inconceivable to me that anyone would shorten a strap. I haven't found one long enough for me (60" minimum) anywhere.:wah

Well I am short. I think it mesures out at 40.75" to fit me right... if I remember corectly. Yep, just checked 40 and 3/4 inches..

The smallest it could go before was about 43".. Just too low.

    Well,
I was seriously considering the KA Tweed-Tones, but I just scored a pretty good deal on a CS Tex-Mex set so I'm gonna start with them and if I like 'em I'll keep 'em!

Re: Got my new Kent Armstrong Tweed Tones!

The Tex-Mex p'up set arrived today and they spec out (resistance-wise) pretty close to what they should be. Actually all three are a little hotter than nominal and the neck is a tad hotter than the middle. I got these at a pretty reasonable price and its a good thing because they don't have cloth covered lead wires and no fibreboard bobbins. They're more or less made like the new stuff they install in production model guitars. I'll post my results after I finish building this Strato-partso-caster, which could be down the road a bit. I'm swamped with projects!

Oh yea, thanks for the bump, ragweed...

I just remembed.. Go here... http://www.thefenderforum.com/forum/...ad.php?t=12927

I recorded my jam with the FMT strat, the KA Tweed Tones and have them running on the Neck bridge combo.. very Teleesque... that's what I realy like about these pickups, they can get you really close to a Tele twang.

But again, great pickups cheap never hurts, RW!

Yes, that tone on "Bumpkin" is very Tele-esque or Tele-ish for a Strat. That's cool!
