question about pup height screws and drilling holes for them.

can't really fill ya in on what exactly this is for, you es need some sort of suprise once in awhile.

i have a pup i'm modifying. my question is, i need to drill a hole in it so i can hang it like an hb. do i just drill the hole a size or two under what the screw size is and then try to screw the screw in? or should i drill it out and try to tap it?

i will be using hb screws for this. but, i also made a plastic plate to go on the bottom of the pup. should i just drill into that? like a strat pup? will there be enough "bite" to keep the screw from slipping?


and before i get flamed for this, you will understand why when it's done.

I'd do this, but use a self tapping screw that's the same thread size as the HB screw. Should work out fine...
