Maybe the cloth could be enbalmed in that thick self-levelling poly-u. (That stuff they laminate baseball cards onto tabletops with in Sports Bars.) Then cut it to pickguard shape and seal the edges.

That could work...it's a polyester resin, used on surfbaords. You could do a pour, and cut the guard shape with a bandsaw or jig saw, sand and buff the edge...it should'nt fray as it's part of the resin now. ain't it fun thinking of how to do crazy stuff to someone elses Tele...

Now that you've made a Tele in an amp's suit, you need to do an amp dressed up like a Tele.
Something in a Butterscotch cab with a Tele control plate on top (vol & tone, on/off/standby) and a sheet of stealthly vented bakelite on the front to let the speaker breathe.

You've turned things on their head, half way. You can't stop now.

I made a white blonde 1x12 to match my white blonde tele. Looks great.

I'm done....I used this PG instead of doing a leather or oxblood one. I installed chickenhead knobs and I think it turned out ok for my first try.

A neat little twist would be chicken head knobs from an old tweed amp for the vol and tone. And a faux grill cloth for the scratch plate. Well maybe
