    Dates & dating

On pre CBS Strats, what's the greatest disparity anyone has ever seen between a neck date & a body cavity date &/or ser. # on a guitar that is apperently stock, with no breaks?

I am definitely not a vintage guitar expert by any means, but maybe Jim Shine, if he still drops by, might be able to help you.

I bought a LPB Strat new in 71, the neck was dated 68, had a 69 decal and a 70 body.

    Here it is:
'59 body, late '59-early '60 ser.#, neck date 3/61. I discussed it with Wilko on the LPF, & it's possible the neck was replaced. But I think if that's the case, it was done in '61. This guitar is clean.
