What CD are you listening to right now?

Thought this might be a cool way to hear about some new music, so what CD are you listening to right now and what do you think?

    Me first:
    Rory Gallagher: Calling Card
I love this cd, great tracks like Edged in Blue (possibly my favorite Rory tune ever), Calling Card, Moonchild etc.

    So what are you playing?

I just picked up Kid Ramos;Califorina House Party..its pretty good .Its got a lot of the Little Charlie and the Nightcats thing going ,as Charlie Batey plays some on it .I like that "California Swing"..it's got that little bit newer blues tone to it..

Re: What CD are you listening to right now?

I am actually listening to Rory Gallagher's Stage Struck which is my favoite CD.I love towards then end of his solo on Moonchild, it is so furios that it sounds like his guitar is going to fall apart, man what energy.

Hey Shawn did you pick up Rory's first solo CD "Rory Gallagher" yet? If so what do you think of the song "Just The Smile",I cant get enuff of that song.

    Gazza,
That is one that I havent been able to find locally, I guess I'm just going to have to order it. I've been watching that DVD non stop. I love the version of A Million Miles Away he does on that one. His lead tone is awesome and those volume swells are great!

Can't seem to stop listening to Danny Gatton's Relentless with Joey DeFrancesco. Its not that I want to be Danny or that I love Bardens etc but the organ and the interplay! Its gratuitous! So meaty and fatback and high cholesterol. twang and beef and swinging...

    Black Sabbath - "Past Lives"

I'm a Black Sabbath fan but never heard of this disc. Who's the singer and when did it come out? Is it one of those discs made after Dio & Gillan left the band? I kinda lost touch with them after that................thanks.

ShawnRT, It's tempting, in a thread like this, to post a guitarically correct reply, naming a super guitar God playing on an obscure album, such as Stevie Ray playing on that old Lou Ann Barton recording which has shown up in the last few years. I forget the title, a familiar theme for me. 99.9% of the stuff I listen to is guitar based, if not guitar featured, and Transcendental Blues fits that mold. That's what I was listening to at the time. Now I'm looking for Gary Hoey's album that I think is called Hocus Pocus: Live. But that's probably not close to the right title. It's most cool though.

    LG:

It just came out. It's live recordings from the original 4! They have an ad for it in the new Guitar World. Disc 1 was recorded in Manchester at the Rainbow in 1973. And Disc 2 is from various dates during the 70's!

    TBD

Jason and the Scorchers now. Warner Hodges really rips it up on Tele. The CD is A Blazing Grace. Country Rock with a heavy accent on Rock. Not for the weak of heart.

a bootleg copy of townes van zandt recorded in galveston. probably the BEST version of "pancho & lefty" bar none.
earlier today - n.miss allstars "phantom 51", dylan "blood on the tracks", & gov't mule "live at the roxy".
waylon's "lonely, honry, & mean" before crashing tonight.

set aside for tomorrow (really slow at work) "back in black", Janis & big brother, gutty clark "old #1", and another bootleg of wes montgomery recorded in france.

    eclectic is cool!!
