I would have two candidates here but since I'm allowed to show only one ...
Here's my never-let-go numero uno (since it was my first real guitar):

I think I got one of the good ones.
This Oxblood Les Paul, though a R7 goldtop has been nudging it lately and is getting the call for my band's first gig this weekend.

my one and only ever strat.
1973, all original apart from a 5 way added late 70's i think.
ive had it for over 20 years, and its nearly at re fret city now..
finger board has some wear dips in it, but i dont want to get it refretted etc as it wont be original anymore...
serioiusly considering getting a 3 way fitted, as i know where i can get an early 70's one from.

Nice...
I don't a think a refret is going to hurt the value at all.
Frets and Nuts are exempt as far as I know.
sea
seagate,
i suppose i should get it done, i dont think ill ever sell it, as its the guitar i really learned to play on, and i love how it feels, compared to the les paul.
i should get my tech (DR robert) to give me a price on the refret and finger board 'levelling' job..
the vol knob and tone knobs also make a 'dirty contact' noise through the amp as well.
just 33years worth of wear i think, lol

Mine alternates between these two, both Custom Shop. Top is 50th (1996) Anniversary, bottom is a 2001 56 Strat

This is my number 1, still the best sounding Stratocaster I've played so far. It's an all original early 1956, ash body and weighs 6.8lbs. I think the necks on these late '55s and early '56s are the best feeling necks Fender ever made.

This has been my numero uno for almost 20 years. Currently being returned to its original Olympic White finish after going thru a half-dozen color changes over the years...

Yo Alanfc, you need to learn to crop a picture bro. My eyes are lead to the right, and exit the frame without finding what I was looking for. Please repost the pic with more to the right exposed - honestly, I just want to see all of the headstock, yeah that's it.

I can easily revert back to this since my black paint job is temporary (I'm testing colors)

Much better! I thought the black was an unusual color for that model. I dig it, but I like the shoreline also.
BTW, it wouldn't hurt my feelings if you cropped out the shirtless MM bass player
........and he's the smartest most successful of the bunch of us too.. :laughing:Quote:
