I Learned a Lot From Joe Walsh
Who doesn't know Joe Walsh? Former front man for The James Gang, solo artist and (to my mind, an almost inconceivable) member of the super group, the Eagles. Yes, THAT Joe Walsh.
I am quite probably the last person on the Internet to see this, and when I first chanced upon it thought to myself, "Seriously? Joe Walsh giving a tutorial on guitar setup?" But dang if I didn't watch the entire 6 part video. And Joe being Joe, he's sometimes a little off the beam, but the man knows his stuff when it comes to setting up a guitar. Okay, so it's a Gibson sponsored video and he's using a Les Paul, but I can look past that.
I'm going to bookmark it, because for me, it's a great reference!

Incidentally, at about 18:40, Joe reveals something Jimmy Page did in "Whole Lotta Love" that may have escaped a number of players trying to mimic him.

I always played WLL like that since I saw John Paul Jones say that a long time ago and every other guy in the studio wouold come and ask me what I was doing that was making the sound of the riff so rich.

i watched that whole series too. Joe is the man. He's the bastard responsible for making me like real '50s bursts, not Jimmy Page.
I saw that WLL lick thing too and every now and then break it out. For some reason it hasn't translated well when I'm recording into the computer vs when I'm playing it through an amp. I don't think the fault is in the gear though.

It's the glue. And if you get an old tube driven computer you will be happy.

I watched that video some time ago and knew Joe's quirky demeanor so I thought, well this should be a hoot. I was impressed by him because I watch a lot of rig rundowns by Premier Guitar and so many players really don't know.
