Re: Memorial concert tonight
I never knew Charlie Karp, and didn't even know his name before coming to TFF. But I know you held him in high regard, so I hope you have a festive, joyous celebration of his life!
Re: Memorial concert tonight
may you all find joy in music. that's a life well lived if people gather together to celebrate. The having been there, not the leaving part. :D
Re: Memorial concert tonight
moment of silence out of respect and a night oh music in his honor. I believe that's a class act my friend...

A great show! 70+ musicians and singers in a well orchestrated show that moved quickly through the acts. Brian Keane - a friend of Charlie's and an Emmy winner himself produced the show and sang a song that he and Charlie wrote together called "You Lift My Heart" which was accompanied by some great singers, players and a gospel choir. I have to admit I was bawling like a baby at that one. Danny Krtchmar had a note read - he's on tour, and Keith Richards sent his regards, too.
The set list...

I loved Charlie Karp so much! I still do! He was, without doubt, the most soulful guitarist I've ever heard of. I actually started listening to soul-blues and funky blues-rock just because of Karp. He was a God, for real!
By the way, the other day, my mates and I wanted to listen to some of his music and decided to reach The Sound & Light Hire Company. They catered a projector and a led dance floor, and we had the time of our lives dancing to Karp's music. Honestly, guys, if you have the chance to do this as well, do not hesitate at all! It's such a special experience, and you'll definitely wanna do it again!
