TOM and a Strat or Tele Headstock
I was just looking at the Joe B. sig Gibson with the Firebird headstock and TOM bridge.
Would intonation be a problem with six in a line and the TOM? I've also wondered the same about Dave Grohl's sig model.
I've got a 93 Fender AmStd Strat neck, and I'm considering putting a Warmoth SG type body on it. What do you think?
Re: TOM and a Strat or Tele Headstock
It shouldn't cause a problem at all.
Re: TOM and a Strat or Tele Headstock
I thought Joe's had a wrap TP. Are we talking about the latest one that is painted Pelham Blue?
Re: TOM and a Strat or Tele Headstock
Wouldn't the TOM sit a bit high? Seems like you'd need to shim the neck to get the strings down on the finger board. :hmm

Yes. This is true. You might be able to have Warmoth carve the required neck angle into the neck pocket.
Or you could recess the TOM- like on my Carvin DC-150. It has a TOM and no neck angle whatsoever.

Yes, it's that sig blue LP. Had me curious.

No intonation issue at all. Intonation deals with nut placement relative to the bridge, and where frets are located between them.
