so which one is it? you can only pick one, so none of this either this one or that one. i'll go first,
as weird as it sounds, i would pick a tuner pedal. cause nothing drives me nuts like a poorly tuned guitar.
what is your choice?

only ONE pedal? Let's see...guess that'd have to be....
...the PEDALl to the motorboat to get me OFF that island and back to civilization. Gilligan I ain't... and I don't see any Mary Anns or Gingers on the horizon!
Is a Boss ME 50 cheating?
brianf
Alright, I'll play the game.
My creamy blue box of heavenly goodness - The Fulltone Fulldrive 2.
Of course, I don't know what good the pedal will do me without a guitar, amp, or source of electricity. Maybe I can break open coconuts with it. I do believe it's sturdy enough to manage that.
FD2 all the way baby!!!!!
Jesus, I`m sick of these FD2`s,,,overpriced tubescreamers!! Gimme my London Fuzz, and I`ll cover the TS base, the FD2 base, and a lot more in between!!
CT.
That's easy...boss blues driver.
Its the only pedal i have anyway!
My captain coconut 2 all the way babbbby!! As it is a 3-in-1 pedal, maybe I should say the provibe? Wonderful sound, always inspires me.
that ain't cheating brianf, extra points for thoughtfulness.
curt, i figured the amp, guitar, and electricity would be implied by you even having the option of a pedal. or maybe i could have called this "favorite desert island pedal to use as a hand weapon." hehehehe
The Way Huge Camel-Toe. Two flavors of OD.
I am still way into my TS-9 that I've had since 83. It has outlasted 15 or so bands, 25-30 guitars, 10+ amps, and one wife.
Line 6 DL-4
I can crack coconuts with it, and defend my self from wild animals. And if I happen to be stranded with my guitar, amp, a couple cables, and electricity, I'd be able to make all kinds of horrendous noise!:tw59
No pedal required here. I occasionally use them, but only to amuse myself.
your my new hero!:arhQuote:

I'd take a Marshall Bluesbreaker.
Not for any guitar-style use. I reckon that its silvery surface would reflect sunlight, allowing me to use it as some sort of distress signal to get the attention of passing ships.
I'd then entertain the crew with my renedition of "I Knwo A Song That'll Get On Your Nerves"...Bluesbreaker style!...
...and end up being thrown back on the island :lol
No, that'd be the TS-808 reissue. The FDII gives a few more options.Quote:

That being said, I'd either flip for my FDII or my Rat, as long as my amp came with reverb and trem.
edited to add:
Wait...my choice might depend on how many guitars I'm able to bring.
TS-808 RI...close second Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster.

how many can you carry?
An Ernie Ball volume pedal.
It's built sturdy, so it can withstand exposure to the elements.
It's heavy enough and has square enough edges that I could probably fell a charging boar with it, if I had to.
I could bang it on a rock, make some sparks to light a fire.
On that same rock I could sharpen an edge enough to skin that boar and roast it up.
And while it (the boar) sizzled, I could coax some lonely volume swelly melodies, biding my time on that wierd desert island with electricity.
Mmmmmmmmm, boar! :mm
No cheating TB! There are three pedals in that thread.
What if I put 'em all in one SKB Pedal Board case.
I doubt the Talent Boost pedal would be able to overcome the effect of the RC-Boost. :DQuote:

Anymore I'm playing straight vanilla into a Rivera Chub or mod'd DRRI, but when I do want a pedal I don't grap the Delay or Compressor or TS-9, it always the FD-II. Yeah, another FD-II vote.
It works for me, the rest is in me and the geetar :D
Hammer on.....Blair
Only one choice for me, Foxrox Zim - The Holy Grail of OD pedals.
Menatone Red Snapper :D
having thought about it for a bit, i am going to go with a boomerang looper. you'll eventually start talking to yourself, so you might as well play along with yourself too. right wilson?
Here is my Desert Island pedal!

My Crybaby 535 Q because (1) I don't need to hide behind distorsion and (2) You could crack cocanuts with this pedal, it very well built.

Keeley Java Boost....If you are a real man!
Probably my Boss GT-5 for versatility
Shoot, that's easy. I can't believe no one said it...my Reverend DriveTrain II...overdriven Fender in a small box!
Depends on the amp. It depends on what style I am playing. OD-3, DS-1, SD-1, ED-1, etc. most commonly. Do I need high gain? If I can get clean and dirty like my tweedy then reverb.
My choice is a pedal I bought to go with my Clapton Strat (Custom Shop model), the Fulltone Plimsoul pedal which comes as close to the oh so rare Dumble amplifier! If you even find a Dumble, I've read and heard that you better be ready to pay minimum $50,000 for it but my $180.00 Plimsoul comes damn close! The Clapton Strat has a preamp in it that pushes it all through my boutique tube amp and OMG, were talkin sweet sweet tone, as close as I've ever gotten to the Eric Johnson sweet tone! Yeah, the FTone Plimsoul, best piece of gear I've ever bought and I've been buying tons of it for 40 yrs so! Peace
I've been through a metric shit ton of pedals since this thread was started 12 years ago, but DesertIsland pedal has to be the Strymon Deco. Sweet creamy "tape saturation" effect combined with "tape delay" effect. That's all I need with a nice grindy little amp and a Tele.
I can't believe I said no pedals 12 years ago! I wasn't in a band at the time. My go to pedal is my Fulltone '69 Pedal. I'd chose that one.
OMG I'd forgotten about the DTII. Well, that wouldn't meet my needs anymore.
I've had a Tube Screamer for as long as I can remember but if I were forced to choose just one it'd have to be the Fulltone Fulldrive II because it's very versatile and has the extra boost.
For club gigs I'm finally going Wah-pedal only into a '68 Custom DR. The Bassman channel is scary good.
For weddings and private gigs where that would be a bit much, my desert island pedal is my Wampler Dual Fusion. It has their "Paisley" and "Euphoria" circuits in it which you can use separately or gang together.
