mines a 58 bassman!
Tweed Deluxe is my favorite, but I am pretty fond of my '63 Bassman!
Vibrolux Reverb, but there are other Fenders I like as much, too.
I love my '68 silverface Vibrolux Reverb. I'd love a sf Deluxe to match. Why pay those crazy blackface prices?
59 tweed Bassman or my 67 Super Reverb, depending on my mood.
I forgot about my 59 Super. I couldn't do without that amp, either.
'64 blonde Bassman.
Traded a guy even for a Hot Rod Deluxe I used to gig with because he needed a combo. :D
I would bet you loaded that amp pretty quickly.:) I used to have a blonde Bassman. Great amp........
Yea, I couldn't get the bubble wrap around the Hot Rod quick enough. I was scared he was going to change his mind before the trade went through.
I'm not too much into that ultra-clean Fender tone myself, but that's just me. I had a Cyber-Twin, and that was a fun toy, but I dumped it. I had a Twin Reverb RI and that was great for what it was, I guess--just not for me.
you bet!!! have a killer '68 vertical black line Super Reverb, and now a '68 VBL Bassman!!!Quote:

oh i like my 59 champ too.
aw heckl i love em all.
I can`t really say that I have one favorite. I love tweeds; the Bassman, Deluxe, 2X10 Super, and low powered Twin. I also love my 1960 brown 2X10 Super and VibroKing. I also have a `66 Deluxe Reverb and a `66 Super Reverb that I like, but I prefer the tweeds. Sometimes I think about selling the blackfaces but haven`t yet.
i'm kinda partial to the princeton reverb myself.
nice small amps, big sound and i like the way they breakup when driven hard.
currently have an early silverface that still rocks.
in need of a tubes and i'm sure some caps, but not now.
in the big boy boat i liked the dual showman into a 4x12 cab.
peace
steve
65 Princeton reverb. It has all the sound, but you don't need a forklift to transport it.
My favorite would be The Twin. What I use though is a Princeton 65 and a Power Chorus. The Power Chorus may not be the greatest amp fpr drive, but that awesone chorus, rich reverb and awesome clean channel makes up for it. And the Princeton 65 sounds great all the way around.
My '68 blackline SF Princeton Reverb. (with a Rogers baffle,12" Celestion Blue,Weber Copper Cap, and NOS tubes from Mike K.)
I really love the RI Bassmans, but I think a low-power tweed twin would be my fave if I could afford it...
I have a BF Super Reverb and a BF Vibrolux Reverb. I'd have to say that the Super is my fav.
I would like to grab a nice BF Deluxe Reverb one of these days, tho.
I toggle back and forth between these two: a '57 Low Power Tweed Twin, and a '60 Bassman, both 100% original. There's SOMETHING about these Tweed Amps that really brings a Stratocaster alive - "Fender Into Fender" - who knew??

Don't do that to me, dammit!Quote:

I love those old low-power twins!
Since I putz at the house, I don't have "live" experience with many amps. I use a newish Fender "The Twin" amp, 2x12, 100/25 watt switchable. Man, Les Pauls sound mighty nice thru this. My Strats do well also.
I also keep a new Vox Valvetronix 60W digital amp on hand. Unreal.

I like the Vibrolux Reverb and brown Super. But my favorite has to be the late 50s Tweed line.

No deluxe Reverbs?? :hmm
I'm not a huge Fender amp fan anymore, but I still have a bunch. I loved a '60 high power Tweed Twin I used to have, especially with Strats.
I have a '66 BF Super Reverb I bought in trashed condition. I rebuilt it and modded it quite a bit. It has become my favorite "Fender".
hogy
Black or Silver-face Super Reverb all the way...
Blues Jr. is nice for practice and smaller clubs.
Anything tweed works for me.
Wouldn't want to choose between my '59 Vibrolux and my '68 Pro Reverb. If forced, probably have to go with the Tweed, tho.
I think any med power Tweed will do it for me.
I love my '59 Bassman RI.
If I had to own just one it would a 1964-67 Deluxe Reverb. Good for recording, easy to take to gigs, good volume levels for small to medium sized clubs, Fender tone, trem freature, great clean tones, great crunchy tones, likes pedals, look cool...
Blackface Deluxe Reverb or the Twin Reverb.......
There are so many good amps it's hard to choose.
Hammer on.....Blair
Tweed 3x10 Bandmaster
I wanted that 'Venture' sound and got the black face Bandmaster new for my band 'The Cresents' of Louisville,Ky.
Later I needed a bass amp and this Bandmaster got the 'NORMAL' input modified to the Bassman 100 preamp ckt.
Added two heavy 12's and this amp rocks, jazzes, and bassbooms with ease.
I love my SF Deluxe Reverb and have been coveting a Vibrolux Reverb of late :)Quote:

Aw, man! Fender makes AMPS too?! Since WHEN?!
Ahhhh, good to see some DRs in there now. :smokin
59 Tweed Bassman
59 Tweed Deluxe
59 Tweed Champ/Princeton
(All of the above are DIY hombuilt variations)
Casey4s
63 white Tremolux or 63 Brown Deluxe
Guess I'd have to say for a tweed, my '56 6v6 Super. Blackface, probably my '66 Pro Reverb
Vibroverb 1 15" JBL is my fav
BF Vibrolux Reverb 2nd fav
The little tone monster, Champ! At least in the house anyway.
My '65 R.I. Twin is my favorite (especially when I need the horsepower).
My dingy-lookin' SF Champ is a tone-monster, though. Absolutely terrific tone from a LP into a FD2 and a Fat-Boost and a Fender Reverb unit, then into the Champ. Huge tone.
Hard to pick just one, there's several excellent ones. I have 6 old Fenders.
Hard to beat a 60 tweed Bassman (with P10Q speakers). Tweed Pros (narrow panel) sound great as well. But then so does the BF Vibroverb. And the BFSR.
I guess it depends on the application.
While I like all old Fenders, I've gotta say that right now my fav is a 10 watt Champ 12. Nice clean tone but a killer overdrive channel. I also like a Pro Jr.
'63 pre-CBS Bassman!
O.K., I'll admit it damnit! I love the clean channel on my Hot Rod Deville (DUCK!).:wow :lol2
My ;54 Tweed Deluxe with a Weber California 12 is a real smoker, and now I'm diggin my new (!) Brown Princeton with a 12" Tone Tubby in it...! (Thanks, Alley Cat...!) :D
My 65 super reverb RI.
Ok Ed, it's time to come out from behind the couch....I know yer back there eatin' a peanut butter and jelly...come on, come on outa there boy....:lolspin :edscouchQuote:

I use my tweed (5E3) Deluxe more than anything, primarily for volume reasons, but I love that tube-rectified tone.
On paper (and because it's what Alex Chilton supposedly used on Radio City ) I like the '59 Bassman and the BF Super Reverb, but I've never had a chance to play through either one.
Hey Burst, good to see you; Scott P. just sent me the link to this forum last night.
Favorite Fender amp(s)? Of the ones I've had I'd have to say tube rectified Pro Reverb. Of the ones I haven't had it would be a '59 Bassman (specifiaclly Scott Pearson's).
I'm ashamed to admit that I own no Fender amps at the present :(
1962 Princeton!!! I gigged with it last night in a small room and it kills. Also have a 68 Princeton Reverb and a 65 VChamp. I love old fender amps!
I'm really digging my Blues DeVille. Not as upscale as a Super Reverb but more earthy and ballsy. It's not as lush as my Bassbreaker but it get's close and also has reverb. It's louder too.
"O.K., I'll admit it damnit! I love the clean channel on my Hot Rod Deville (DUCK!)."
I have one also and love the clean channel. Don't care for the dirt channel thou.

63 reissue vibroverb
the brown Pro. I have one- it's my favorite amp. I like the old brown Fenders best.
any fender amp that will stay nice and shimmery clean with decent volume,,then, slowly gets smooth and compressed thick distortion with out blowing you out of the room and is still loud enough to cut through.......that is what i want in a fender(i own brownfacers and real early tweeds).......jcs
Deluxe Reverb.
Blackface Deluxe Reverb is my #1 all round choice, but I used to have a '58 tweed Deluxe and a Tele or a LP Junior into that amp turned up to about 9...have mercy, it was a beautiful thing indeed.
I'm a Bassman fan. Great amps, very articulate, big balls, they've got it all! :bigal
