What is yer favorite Fender amp(s)? My favorite is a late 50's Super
I guess it would have to be my '64 BF VibroChamp because all of the sound/tone that can come from the little 8 inch speaker, plus I can tote it around without breaking my back.
Original blackface Deluxe Reverb and Bassman amps. I've never heard the Vibroverb but I'll bet it's amazing.
One of Keith Richards old tweed twins!!!
I played an old Blackface Super Reverb a while back (Not sure of the year). I would have to say that sounded damn fine!!!
brianf
Fender Tone Master
Fender Prosonic head
Fender Prosonic combo
Late 50's Tweed Bassman 4x10
Early 60's blonde/brownface 6G6 and 6G6A Bassman heads W/Tone ring cabs
Blackface Vibrolux. I love 10" speakers. Oh yeah, the custom shop VibroKing i played -- and i'm not even a vibrato guy. They just sound great. :D
I like my bassman, too (handwired board in a reissue -- though I'm not sure that matters).
I really dig my 6G2 Princeton and would say its my favorite at the moment. I have a hunch that I would fall in love with the tweeds.
brown Pro/Vibrasonic
brown Princeton
brown Deluxe
brown Vibrolux (see a pattern?)
BF/SF Vibrochamp
Champ II
Blackface Princetons with 12" speaker and "da voodoo treatment"
Blackface Deluxe Reverbs and DRRI's with some nice mods like better tubes and speaker.
My blackface Pro Reverb with V-30 Celestions and chassis mods by Todd Sharp, Teleboberto played that amp and liked it
A Fuchs modded Bassman reissue.
I don't think I've played enough different amps to judge.
I do love my Deluxe Reverb though. It sounds gorgeous, has simple, elegant controls, and is very portable. What more could I want out of an amp?
I miss my BF Deluxe and SF Twin. Besides buying a Mercury, if I had money, I'd tell ya what I'd do, I'd go downtown and buy a shitload of Fender amps too!!!
silver face master volume twins.
'64 Blackface blonde Bandmaster with 63 RI Reverb unit. Either the Jazzmaster or the Mosrite = SURF'S UP!!!! :spin
'65 Fender Tremolux. The one that got away...should have never, never sold it.
I'm mighty fond of my '62 narrow panel tweed champ. My '74 silver face Princeton Reverb, which I've had since new, is a very close second. Not far behind either of those is my musicmaster bass amp.
I can't pick just one. Tweeds do rock better, but blackfaces do country more to my liking.
5E3 Deluxe and Blackface Deluxe Reverb.
I'd LOVE to play some Fenders with 10's though...
Super Reverbs, anything before the MV sounds good to me. Four tens... that's a lot of surface area.
Dang, homeboy! Where have you been? :olaQuote:

My friend has a '60's blackface super reverb that is probably the best sounding clean amp I have ever heard.
Someone mentioned the prosonic combo. I played one in the mid '90's that I thought was the best amp I'd heard at the time. My tastes may have changed, but from what I remember..it was nice.!
:ola Long story :) I'll send you an e-mail.Quote:

My favorite Fender amp is the Vibrolux Reverb. At 33 watts, it's sits right in there between too gritty (Deluxe Reverb), and too loud (Super Reverb).
I know they aren't collectible or highly sought after, but my Concert II does it for me. No, it isn't "modern" high gain, but it does everything I want it to. It took me a while to learn using the effects loop to optimize the gain and to sweeten up the clean channel. It is PTP and trouble free....
Low power tweed twins, Supers, quad reverbs and a Tweed bassman.
That'll do me.
I'm a big fan of the BFVR (I've got a '66). Fits in every situation.:yay
for most things a tweed deluxe
when i play in my classic rock cover band, my modded 68 bassman thru a 4x12.
I really like my '69 SFVR and '71 PR. I'd love to try a Bassman or super.
Dean
My "new" fave amp will be here tomorrow.
.
I scored a minty mint '63 brown Princeton with
original speaker and tubes for $355.00 U.S. :nicholas
.
.
My brown Pro or my brown Super.
I haven't met a 2x6L6 brown Fender I haven't liked, actually.
63-64 Transitional BF/blonde Tremolux -- fattest BF I've ever played.
mid-70's SF Princeton w/Weber 10F150T -- very pretty cleans and pedal friendly for dirt.
Favorites that I own: 68 drip edge Princeton Reverb & Super Champ.
Favorite that I've played through but don't own: 5E3 Deluxe.
Favorites that I own -'70 Vibrolux Reverb and '69 Deluxe Reverb, depending on the situation. That I don't own - my buddy's 6G2 Princeton. I really miss the '68 Princeton Reverb I once had, too.
Come to think of it..... After I heard Tele-Bob play throught my tweed Vibrolux I have a new found interest in playing the amp. I guess he has inspired me as to what the amp can do.
My new(old) 65 BF Bandmaster into my 2x10 weber Michigan cab.
1958 Fender Vibrolux Tweed. I don't own one of these, nor might it be the greatest, but it's my favorite.
I have a reworked '59 I might be willing to sell.Quote:

I have a '55 5E3 Narrow panel Deluxe that I use with a single PU Esquire clone that has an original 1950 Fender Champion 9.4K lapsteel PU.
I have a '65 Super Reverb, which is all original and could use a tweaking.
I have a narrow panel 5E5-A Tweed Pro replica NOCD built. Even though its a clone I have to say that it is the best sounding and most versatile "Fender" I own in a group that includes a 67 Vibrochamp, 63 Brown Princeton, and 74 Vibrolux Reverb.
My Favorite amp is a Deluxe Reverb AB763 modded for cathode biased output. Gives it a browner sound perfect for Classic rock/blues gigging!!
My 69 Super (don't have it anymore) and my new Stage 160 DSP is just soundin' sweet with two 12" Celestions, but I can't turn it up over 3.5 without blowing eardrums.
For around the house and small clubs? Either a SF Vibrolux Reverb or a SF Pro Reverb.
Big clubs? 65 Bassman head through a Music Man 412 cabinet.
Really, really big clubs? Add a SF Bassman 50 modded for EL34s and another Music Man 412 cabinet.
Juicy.
That would be the only amp I've got.
A near mint 82 Superchamp with a stock EV speaker.
Great amp with my old Les Paul Jr and Fulldrive II
:)
Best regards
Brian
It has to be a '96 Custom Shop Prosonic in seafoam green, thank you very much.
Brownface Deluxe.
TBD
Like the illustrious fezz, my '66 BFVR with the sweeeet Jensens.
:sun
Gotta love that amp! Still have the Brown Super?

I dug the Brown Super while I had it, especially the harmonic vibrato, but since I've got 2x10 territory covered with my '66 BFVR and '68 SFVR, I traded it for a Les Paul.Quote:

Those are sweet... I had a 5e9a for awhile. Great amp. A Deluxe with wiggle.:hee
TBD, very nice indeed...if not for the aforementioned VRs, and the fact that I fell in love with this particular LP, I'd have kept it.Quote:

How's the trem on your '66?
It's really good.:yay
Chris, I was just struck by a thought (ouch)...we need to release a gutbucket r&b album under the name Little Harry and the Wigglers. We could call it "Hot Dances and Slow Burns."
:band
:hee
My favorite has always been a Super Reverb and I've got a BF'd SF chassis on it's way to me now.
I am really partial to my 65 Princeton Reverb, but mostly I use a 68 Deluxe Reverb and a 70's Twin Reverb head that's been gone through and blackfaced, and run it into a '65 2X12 cab.
RB
Hi Fezz,how you doing?
I actually baught a 66 Blackface VR yesterday,I picked it up for a steal at a pawn shop down here in South Africa....I'm smiling, very happy indeed.
Im completely new to Tube amps,so any advice you'd care to share about the amp and the best way to set it up would be appreciated.
I use a LPaul and a 62 re-issue MIJ Strat.
Thanks
Hey CD. You are really gonna like this amp.:yay
If you have a tech that you trust, have the tech make sure the electrolytics are healthy (power supply, bias, and cathode bypass). If has the original caps, or hasn't had a cap job in ten years, this is the first thing I would do.
Congrats on getting a great amp!:D
