The Sunday Thread for The First Sunday in Match, 2025
As I type this, my ship is pulling into port in Tampa, and a few hours from now I’ll be winging my way home. It was nice to have warm weather and lots of food, but all good things come to an end. I had a nice little exchange with one of the ship’s performers who was interested in my KLŌS travel guitar. He was playing a Martin D-10 and was interested in small travel guitars for personal use, so I showed him mine. I had a lot of fun playing every day in my stateroom. It’s now packed up and will be re-assembled in a few hours. You can’t get bored on a ship if you have a guitar to play!
Safe Sunday, everyone!
Re: The Sunday Thread for The First Sunday in Match, 2025
Just trying to find sensation in my hands this morning. Spent a big chunk of Saturday scooching around on the floor masking the molding in preparation for painting. Painting 4 rooms and realizing that I should have stayed more active these past few weeks of winter. It hurts today, and I have a few more days of painting to go. This the last time I'll be doing it myself.
A few local playing opportunities coming up this week. Keep the fingers moving.
And the gear sale goes on.
7 degrees here this morning with an inch of snow overnight. Getting warmer later this week. Spring is coming. Happy March everyone!

weird, CT colder than NH? It was 14 when I got up and it's supposed to be even colder tomorrow. By Thursday we'll be almost 60.
Might be going out for lunch today for my birthday, still waiting to find out. Supposedly the construction of the room in the basement will finish this week with the installation of the flooring. Then I start moving stuff from the unfinished side of the basement into the room. What's not being kept downstairs will be slated to either a trip to the dump or stowed up in the attic space beside the garage loft. After that IDGAF what happens to it.
The room downstairs will be split between the stuff from the unfinished side and a space for the nephew who has been camping in our living room for the last 4 weeks. The next phase of the construction is not going to start for a while, although I have no idea when because nobody tells me anything or asks for my input.
I've given up on my music room, it's not going to work with the way it was constructed. You can still hear people talking down there even though the walls and ceilings are finished. Not nearly enough insulation was put in the ceiling, the wall dividing the cellar was not double sided like I would have build it and there's a pocket door instead of a regular door. It's about as sound resilient as a screened porch.
I'm in the process of selling as much stuff as I can, so I have less to worry about if I have to find a place to live. I'm not so sure about staying here anymore where I don't feel safe because of the alcohol use around me. I've been dry for 5 weeks and will continue to be for the duration. My main concern is for my cat, he did so poorly in the apartment complex we were in and it was such a relief to get back into a single family home again. I really thought this would be it, that I wouldn't have to move again at least for as long as he was still with me.

Sorry. Forgot to mention that I've been in Otis MA for the last couple of months. Felt like getting out of CT for a while after an extended stay there taking care of family matters.
