I’m not thinking of doing this now, but would my AmStd Jazz neck fit my AmPro Precision body and the P neck on the Jazz body?

Yep! Heels are the same, it’s just the nut width that’s different.
exactly what my bass build will be when I finally drill the mounting holes and tuner holes. 1.5" nut on a telecaster headstock with a rosewood board. only in its second year of waiting
darn good to know!
I have J necks on all my P’s! I have tiny little girl hands, so they’re more comfortable than the regular P neck.
I had the reverse with my ‘63 Jazz bass. When I purchased the old girl she had a ‘62 P-bass neck that I removed and attached to a ‘62 P that I was restoring. I purchased a Mighty Mite jazz neck that I had set up for me with brass nut and a tad of shaving for my profile that makes my J Bass one of a kind and totally comfortable as my bass. She may be a bass slut, but she’s one hell of a mean machine!
I'm just the opposite. I like the Jazz body and electronics, (preferably stack knobs) but my hands cramp up if I play the Jazz neck, the P-bass neck is way more comfortable to me. Too bad you can't find that configuration without going with a custom build somewhere.
So I ended up building my own. Basswood / maple top body, fretless P-neck, FEnder Vintage 60's pickups, stack knobs...
I like the Precision neck a lot, but the Jazz neck is better for my twisted old hands. I do think I'm going to leave them as they are. Some nights I'll play the P, others the Jazz. It's not that I dislike the Precision necks; they're pretty comfortable.
