Sunday morning and coffee
woo hoo, woke up to the first sub 40 degree temperatures of the season. please note I'm trying to be enthusiastic. I really can't complain because sometimes we get this before labor day. To make it to the last weekend of September is actually quite exceptional, at least in my memory.
last weekend's football plans didn't get off the ground so I hope they do this week. I just got done playing for a little bit and drinking coffee, going to do an errand or two, jump in the shower and who's gathering where.

Woke up late today - just spread 50# of grass seed around the yard to fill in the gaps. Tested a new mic for Amazon Vine - NEAT Mics Worker Bee. A really nice condenser mic that is crystal clear. Now I'm going to take the new Pony Car for a ride.

A little late in the season for sowing lawn seed, isn't it?
It's great weather here today and all of the chores were done yesterday so it'll be a "lazy/hazy" day here. Some guitar picking with friends and barbecuing some burgs and brats later this afternoon.

A Fall over-seeding can do wonders.

Grading a stack of papers today using a web service.
I like good old fashioned marking with a pen--no, I never use red.
This is going to slow me down a lot, and I have over 100 essays to mark. I'm just hoping that eventually, it'll make things faster.
Music-wise: I hope to get a chance to play some today. I'm into playing bass at the moment--it was my first love and instrument.
Food-wise: It's going to be a stir free evening--variety of vegs sauteed with a bit of rum, a package of bratwurst sliced and thrown in. All on a bed of brown rice.

yes, around these parts October is one of the prime grass growing/seeding/sodding months. Still a fair amount of light, cool temps, plenty of moisture every morning from condensation. If a lawn had issues during the summer, now is the time when many things can be remedied and get ready for next spring.

Hello, brothers...
I have been working like a freekin' dog lately, qnd this was the first quiet weekend in weeks. Finqlly I could sleep well and take a break from everything.
Dedicated my whole time to my young daughter, we had a wonderful time together doing those simples things that are what makes life beautiful, i.e. me taking her to the beauty parlor for the first time to have her hair dressed, going out for a burger and a milkshake, buying a new pair of chuck taylors for her... Life is just good when I'm with her (she's 7) and I'm doing my best to ensure that we see each other all the time. Being a father is something so good you just can't describe...
As for music, I think you all have read my latest posts and realize how disfunctional my band was, due to the other dudes' personal issues. After we finally got a new drummer, and a good one, our singer got a severe depression and is sedated all the time now. Won't be singing anytime soon.
I was already about to give up playing in a band again when my phone rang. It was a friend who is putting a new band together, and they invited me to be their rythm guitarist. Talk about fate... I accepted right away and right now I am stutying the new repertoire. These guys really mean business, they are very good players and have been in quite active bands. I was quite happy with the wildcard they gave me.
Otherwise, some lady friends of my fiancée are getting married and as many of you probably know, that mean hell to us male friends. I am already under a lot of pressure for marriage, and it just ain't the right time. I see trouble ahead.
Sunday morning coffee threads are better than two hours with a headshrink.
