SCHWEET!
Dakota Red?
Chubbie city... NICE!
Where the heck that thing been for all these years, hanging in a museum? Holy Schmokes that is clean, but in a way seems a waste that it never got played...at least it doesn't appear to have been.

Looking closer it seems to be a refin, albeit a '60s Fender factory refin.
& yes it is Dakota Red
That's a beauty!
A dream. :Banjo:
Nice. Thanks.
Goes to show you how wrong everybody gets the "mint green" pickguards.
Indeed!
The "accessory" pickguards sold by FINO are the worst offenders. Those installed on factory-made guitars, whether of US or Mexican origin, don't look too bad but the stand-alone accessories look like raw ass. Ditto with that "aged white" trash used on the knob and pickup cover sets.
Yes, a number of my mint guards from the MIM '60s Strats started out w/good color, better than MIA RI guards. They've all faded to a light gray/partchment color. Not cool.
Chandler used to offer some pretty realistic mint-green pickguards. Tortoise-shell too.
At one time in the mid - late '90s I bought a couple of 'guards from them that were real nitrocellulose. No kidding. I called & asked for more & Paul's crazy wife swore they never had such material. Right.
I wish I'd stockpiled a few when they were still available.
:brood:
Ayup. I would've killed for one of Chandler's tortoise-shell pickguards when I was building my Mary Kay hardtail!
Wow ....thats gorgeous.
