Do Texas Specials ever come with plastic coated wire?

I'm looking at a loaded pick guard with "Texas Special" pickups and the seller says that not all Texas Specials come with cloth covered wire. His, of course, are plastic covered.

Anyone confirm this ?

Every set I've ever seen has had cloth insulation.

Never seen one without cloth wire, also look for the color dots on the back of the pups I think blue was neck and red was bridge also should have fender custom shop silver stickers on the back of them.

I've seen them w/o stickers but they're always cloth covered (?)

What about the CIJ models that claim to come stock with 'Texas Specials'?

My buddy up in Duluth has a 95 cij 62 reissue he took his apart and they have cloth wire

All Texas Specials have cloth wires.

The Tex Mex have plastic

As I thought, he looked a little closer and they are cloth covered.
so it all makes sense now

Factory installed Texas Specials don't have coloured dots or custom shop stickers on them-
This is what is under the hood on my Mark Knopfler sig Strat.
