Re: Classic seies '70's Jazz
I looked one over at GC a coupla weeks ago. Same as that one -- 3TSB, R/W "Tuxedo" neck. Seemed pretty righteous to me as far as "off the rack" gitts go. Price was right as well.
Go fer it!

Yeah I'm seriously thinkin about it!! Or possibly the MIM Reggie Hamilton- w/ active/passive & P & noisless J pups, Sunburst & rw. None of the lovely neck binding & pearl blocks tho
Re: Classic seies '70's Jazz
Yeah I'm a sucker for them tuxedo necks. My brother's the bassist in the family though. He has an original '66 Precision and a Geddy Lee re-issue so I built him this '66 J-Bass clone for his birthday......

It's pretty much his "numbah one" now.
Re: Classic seies '70's Jazz
I had a chance to play one of these in Ct. when I was up there for the jam.
It was a great feeling bass and had NO fret or weird neck issues I have read some compalints about. I couldn't throttle it through an amp so I can't tell you about the sound...but it felt great - which in my book accounts for a big bpart of my love for an instrument.
