The difference?

I saw on one of the sites i go onto to shop the following:

American Precision Bass,
American Precision Standard Bass.

What is the difference? The standard was different and came in different colours.

If I am not mistaken, the Standard, is a new series, has upgraded hardware and maybe someother features. I looked at one of these and seriously considered it, until I played another type that just plain old "talked to me".

They seemed like nice instruments, and come with an upgraded case from SKB.

I ended up with a particular American Deluxe Precision.....

Ash body - antique cherry sunburst. It was WAY too lively for me, but had a "Vibe".

5 sets of strings later and it is "IT".
