Two tone skunk stripe?

I've personally never seen one until I bought this off of ebay. I've always seen the same color all the way down. But this neck has the normal dark brown about 1/3 of the way down, then it has a 2nd piece that's almost the same color as the neck, if not just a shade or two darker.

I bought this for a project, but I opted to buy a Squier 51 and sink money into that instead. I want to trade this for a MIM tele neck or something, but I was hoping to find out info on that skunk stripe since, in my experience, that's pretty odd.

Or, it is it just the factory being cheap and making a manufacturing error?

Walnut, which is what the skunk stripes are, is not all brown. It can have much lighter streaks in it. The color can vary according to origin. This is only cosmetic and won't affect the neck in any adverse way.

THAT'S definitely unusual.
I can't tell with the reflection on the neck.
