Greased Palms = Bad Radio

Just read an article in music trade publication.New York Attorney general has just obtained a $10 million U.S. settlement from SONY MUSIC and a promise to stop bribing radio sations and their employees to play certain songs. Quoted: "Sony paid radio stations to play songs by the "Whiny JOHN MAYER" The "Petulant AVRIL LAVIGNE" and the "Indescribably bad JESSICA SIMPSON"
Article also sated that there is so much BETTER talent out there that never sees the light of day, and that these artists represent what is so wrong with the music industry today .

Isn't commercial radio really just an infomercial playing samples from albums and selling products.

We're blessed in South eastern New England with ample public and college radio.

Of course, instead of product, they've got an agenda to sell, but I can live with that.

that plays the song Louie Louie 24 hours a day non stop !! ? 365 days a year !!!
Without any commercials ???? I heard it a few years ago while travelling !!! It was true. Playing JUST that song and all the different versions the original and covers. What a laugh. Does that station still
exist ? It was for real .

We have the same radio stations in Vancouver!

YA 'cause SONY bought and owns the old catalogs and does all the remasters / reissues of those tunes LOL !!!

We just got a new classic rock station about a year and a half ago. Late at night they do some 50s blues stuff sometimes and alot of stuff you never hear. "Little Stevens Undeground Garage"

It's a nice break from all the KoRn, Ashlee Simpson and other junk.

Thanks! N-F. I don't do a lot of streaming audio, since I can't concentrate at work with music. I will try to tune in the car for 'PKM.

I forget the exact digits but it's around the same frequency as PKN. Same broadcast, just another transmitter out on the Island.
