Recommend a good person/shop to re-finish a 3-Tone Sunburst
I have a 1979 Stratocaster that was originally a 3-tone Sunburst Ash body. A previous owner had it refinished in black over the original finish, but did a purple-ish sunburst in the back. It's actually kind of cool, but I eventually would like to refinish it in all-black or in an authentic late '70s 3-Tone Sunburst finish. To whom or where should I consider sending it to get the most authentic 3TS refinish job? Thanks!

It's possible that Joe Riggio out of Tacoma, WA could do it. I don't think he has a website but you can find him on facebook & instagram

Also, depending on how much you are willing to spend on that job, you could send the guitar to Historic Makeovers. They do a terrific job.

Without any reservations I can recommend JC Harper as a capable luthier and refinisher. The work is top-drawer and his prices are reasonable. I doubt you'll be disappointed.
