I'm looking for a inexpensive direct box.
I want to be able to take my J-Station and be able to interface with any PA system, so I won't need simulated amps and that kind of stuff build into. Something simple, but effective...
Got any ideas?

I'm really thinking when there is a snake out there an all they have left are XLR's. I played at this thing in August, a huge mess of a jam, and the 1/4" to the mixer were very limited, but they had lots of XLR's open.
cool, that's fine. BTW, I sent you a few emails, is your hotmail working?
This one looks like it would work fine, and passive!

I use the Behringer DI20 Ultra DI 2-Channel Active DI Box/Splitter (around $25) and haven't had any problems. It gives you 2 channels of hi-z to low-z conversion or you can chain the channels together and use it as a 1-in/2-out splitter. It runs off a 9-volt or phantom power (that's the way I use). I use one of these boxes when coming out of a stereo source (either keys, v-drums, or some type of rack processor or modeler).
I also use a Behringer GI100 Ultra-G DI Box for my guitar signal when coming right out of the pedal board and going direct to the church's PA mixer. This model runs around $35 and features a 4x12" cabinet simulator (perfect for my application). It also uses 9-volt or phantom power.
Well thats why I did not say anything about it... I'm going the same route as you....Quote:
