Is it stock, or have you modded it in any way?

absolutly stock!

I tried to put in very expensive boutique pickups, but it was more a step back in sound quality.

This cheap Mexico Strat is best right out of the case!

Some players change stuff just for the sake of change. Often though, their instrument will play and sound beautiful if only they'll give it a chance. Yours, like your polished chops, is beautiful.
