Repalcing a peavey horn driver?
Our last gig we blew a horn, so I ordered the new diaphram. When I took it apart, the speaker wires aren't color coded, nor is the old diaphram?
What affect will switching the +/- have if it's hooked up wrong? Anyway to identify the + lead? The driver is the 14XT for a 12" peavey monitor. Cyber |

It won't make any noticable difference.

On Peavey speakers, they pair red/black and yellow/blue for the woofer and horn. Red and yellow are positive, black and blue are negative, FYI

It connections will make a difference if you use two of the same monitors and they are placed within ear shot of one another!

Re: Repalcing a peavey horn driver?
The phase will make most difference on the main woofers. High frequencies are so short that even if wired in phase, just moving the speaker a foot or two makes some notes in and some notes out of phase. so. It doesn't matter for horns.
