    My Ric 4001--Revised

Now with horseshoe and toaster pups, a set of flatwounds, and 35 years of mojo.

A buddy of mine has a decent camera and took this pic o' the Ric.

This is what we found in the pup cavity:

Looks like mine only someone took the horseshoe off. I'll get those measurements for ya.

Cool. Chucko. I've wanted my Rick to sound like this for 35 years. I love that 60s, Macca-era Ric sound too much, and I've got it now, as close as I can get to it.

Bridge pup is about .100" from the polepiece to bottom of the strings, both sides. Neck is .170" & .240" E & G respectively. These aren't "magic numbers", but my bass sounds damn nice!

Thanks. We actually had to do some minor routing to the neck pup pocket to get the toaster fit depth-wise. The original pickup had a magnet bar, and the toaster has six big pole pieces. I even called Ric to make sure I had the right pickup, but sure enough.

That's actually a guitar pup! It weirds some people out, but they don't understand magnetic fields n such. RAWK on Brutha!

Yeah, man. Rics rule. I was 16 when I got mine. I've gone through some times when I thought I'd have to sell it, even tried, but glad I'm a lefty or it probably would have sold.
