    Pre-Shaped Compensated Bone Saddles

I was wondering if anyone had a link for Bone saddles alread set up and compensated. I know that they would only bne close and not exact, but after not getting it right, I am willing to call it good if I can find one. I tried Tusq and it's ok, but I would flike bone.

This is for a Epiphone acoustic, standard Gibson sized.

    thanks if you can help.....

Stewmac has pre-shaped, but you'd have to compensate it.

You can't set it up without putting it in YOUR guitar and measuring it for height and intonation. (What are you compensating for?)

Some guy on Ebay named Colosi markets some nice bone saddles. He is very accomodating.

    Re: Pre-Shaped Compensated Bone Saddles

    lets see....where to begin......

I have a couple of scraps, one nice one I could make a simple shaped one with, but I might do the stew mac thing......

I know it has to be on the actual guitar to fine tune it, but a basic standard starting point would be nice.....

I would be trying to come as close as I could to the compensated B space as I could, but I have never actually done this.....read about it some, kind of sort of understand it.....and believe closer to right is farther from wrong, and am willing to try it again and lear, even if I do it wrong *again*

    and

Thanks - I will check them out tonight LB - I appreaciate the help.

lets see where it all falls out.

Hey, you know, nobody uses a compensated saddle on a violin. But those don't have frets, so you compensate with your fingers.

Just get the straight blank, and pull all your frets out! Your tuning problems are over!

    LB -

Nice site. thanks for the heads up.

I may give them a shot. For about twice the cost of the typical blank, its finished and polished too......

Should I mention you, or had you just run across the site?

Well, he did pinch his castle-AFAIK he lived in it.

He also borrowed a couple of stage moves with the bow out of "Magick".
