    DIY Cabinet for Blues Deluxe

I have built a cabinet for my '93 Blues Deluxe combo amp and plan to use it as a head. I've ordered two Eminence Texas Heat 8 ohm speakers and built my cabinet for two 12's. The amp is 8 ohms. From what I've been reading, I think I may have ordered the wrong speakers because the ohms won't match the output of my amp.

How can I wire this thing to match the impedence correctly?

Two 8 ohm speakers can't be wired together to get 8 ohms. Wired in series they would be 16 ohms, wired in parallel they would be 4ohms. You would need either two 4 ohm speakers wired in series or two 16 ohm speakers wired in parallel. Other options would be just use one of the 8 ohm speakers or get four and wire them in a series/parallel combination to get 8 ohms.

Eminence Texas Heat also come in 16 ohms, same cost, just switch the 8's for the 16's.

Thanks! Might have been a good idea to have figured all this out BEFORE I had the speakers ordered. Oh well, I'll send 'em back for the 16 variety.
