Will it be a straight up PR???

Looking forward to your build.
Take care, stay well.
I have decided to be happy because it's good for my health.

Oh the freakin' itch!
No known cure, only salves to temporarily relieve the symptoms.
Do it Man, Do It!
What happend?
Who let the magic smoke out?

Help you?
Help me!
I've got half finished projects on the shelves in the master bedroom.
Oh right, snap.
We're here for you buddy!
For example, what transformers, cabinet (head?), speaker, etc?
Lotsa pics of your progress, please!

...where did you get the faceplates, the chassis, the eyelet board?

Plates look awesome, looking foreword to your progress.

I haven't pulled the trigger on this one yet...but getting very close.

DANG I just logged on to start a PRRI thread, too! No kidding! I'll bet this one will be so much more than that!
Do it! Now!
my advice (if you want it) get J taper pots for the volume and treble if you want it to behave like an old PR. I put them back n my Mojotone PR kit and they transformed it from an amp that I thought was just okay to one that I really like a lot. I know it's just psychological- just numbers on a dial, but it worked for me.
You, of ALL people, should know that you're in the WRONG place to get talked out of building this! Seriously! We all love looking at the amps you build!!! Your meticulous attention to detail is second to none.
"don't worry, i'm a professional!"

Are you going to use metal film resistors ?

But I may do this instead:
"...pray do not imagine that those who make the noise are the only inhabitants of the field;
that, of course, they are many in number; or that, after all, they are other than the little,
shriveled, meagre, hopping, though loud and troublesome, insects of the hour."

There is no wrong answer, all roads lead somewhere.

Okay, I'm leaning back towards the scratch build.
For the same money as the '68 Custom PR I can build out a hand-wired,
scratch built BFPR Repro.
In studying the schematics, the 68 Custom PR only has a few component differences from stock; the -FB resistor is twice the value of stock, resulting in a lower -FB voltage and more gain/grit...plus a pair of coupling caps are changed from .1uf to .02uF. Otherwise, it's all the same.
I figure I can swap those components pretty easily, and experiment with speakers to suit.

Or put them on a switch or push pull.

Well, that wouldn't be very repro-like then!

But it would be badass! You could even put it on the back panel... Just a thought

I put a 250k mids/raw pot in the ground switch hole of my Mojo PR clone. It's about as badass as an otherwise stock PR can be. It's like an 18db boost when you crank it! It'll vibrate right off of an amp stand! I recommend that you try it.
Looks like I have a buyer for my Brown/Wheat 5F10 Harvard, so this new build will likely be happening!!!

Update:
Chassis kit ordered
Components and Capacitors ordered
THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN!!!

Nice! I think we all enjoy looking at your work and living vicariously through you...

I'll start a separate thread when it begins.

I'd love a Porch Weasel-style like Roger had but with Reverb...
A SFPR in a head box with a 1x10/1x12 combo cabinet, in the SF look. Would be killer!

that can show me what laughter means
And we'll fill in the missing colors
