    VS open road

it finally came in the mail today but wasn't able to play it. i'm trying to get away from this whole booteek garbage spell i was under. so i went with visual sound cause i always like the sound of their stuff but forget about them when it comes time to buy pedals because they weren't "special" enough. i'm getting back into playing guitar again and realize that as much as i like the tubescreamer, i need something flatter so i thought i'd give the open road a shot.

    report to follow.

    Re: VS open road

i played it tonight with the tele and 12 watter. very nice, it keeps the low end and the tone knob sounds to be voiced more in the high mids as opposed to the treble frequencies. you can dial it down or up and it's usable at either side. very weird for me to encounter that, but i'm liking it. gain seems to be about that of a TS, output is about the same also but a touch louder.

i'll need to try it out at gig level, but initial impressions are 2 thumbs up.
