New Strat...

Hi Folks. Haven't been here in a long time.

I've been thinking about one of these for a looooooong time and finally picked one up. It's an American Vintage '57 RI, White Blonde, Ash body. Very light. Killer neck. Absolutely the best Strat I've ever played.

Nice neck color! Beautiful 57. Don't stop now, how about a pic with the Wanker Bar...

Re: New Strat...

That guitar looks great. The neck and body compliment each other. I hope it sounds as good as it looks.

Re: New Strat...

Hey, thanks folks.

I picked it up yesterday afternoon and set it up this morning. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it dialed in. It actually sounds great through my Reinhardt 18, right out of the box. The stock pups are actually pretty damn good. I'm still not sure if I'm going to install the 5 position switch or not.

Yeah... For a Gibson guy, I'm diggin' it.

I was a "Gibson Guy" for 44 years, then found the Strat I'd been looking for all these years, early last year (a gorgeous American Standard Strat). I've played nothing but that Strat since ... well, until about a month ago when I scored a nice Mexi-made natural ash Tele.

I think my old Les Paul is enjoying retirement!

By the way, that's one killer Strat you have there. You have every right to be a proud dady showing that gal off.

Re: New Strat...

That is a beauty... and for what it is worth I would order the identical guitar given the future opportunity... Truly my favorite combination of neck and body finish.

I've been through a few Strats over the years and never really liked any of them. Every once in a while I'd play one these '57 RI's, when I'd happen to be in a music shop that had one and I always kind of liked them. I was in my local music store this past Monday and played this one for a few minutes. Then I went back two days later and played it some more. By the time Friday rolled around, I couldn't get it out of my mind. I had to buy it, or I probably would have regretted it for the rest of my life. It is truly "The One".

Re: New Strat...

I know what you mean. It took me 44 years for me to find "The One". Once you find it, you just know it.

Congrats again.
