My Bassman amp which normally plays great has started burning the fuse. This must mean something more serious. Is it the power supply or are the tubes going out?
Any advice will be appreciated.

I would look to the P/S first -- specifically the filter caps, since this is an older amp. It could also be a diode stack in the rectifier.
Unplug it before you go pokin' around in there.

And discharge the caps.
They may or may not hold some juice.
A shorted output tube could easily be doing it as well.
If you don't know what you're doing, bring it to a tech.

If the amp has never had its main and bias supply filter caps replaced there about 33 years at best over due!
Or like Kap`n said it could be just a shorted output tube.
Those parallel string of three diodes in the power supply can take a pretty good beating, so a shorted diode would be last on my list of shot parts!
