    Peavey Delta Blues...I bought one!

So, I bought one tonight. Decent deal I guess. I don't have the peavey footswitch, but a vox one...:idk:

Anyway...when i get it home, the clean sound is really nice. REALLY nice if you consider how much i spent on it. I even tried the "OD" channel, and it was usable. I won't use it, but it didn't sound terrible. So, I go to switch on the trem to hear some volume modulation goodness, and.....nothing happens. ?:

So...I found the schematic and did a bit of trouble shooting without opening the amp up.

    Here is the schematic:

All of the preamp tubes are glowing, and there is plenty of volume, so it shouldn't be a tube, right?

Any thoughts amp guru schematic reading types???

First thing that I would suspect is the footswitch. It's not even the correct one. I'd check that the switch that you have is the correct type and that it functions properly. If it's not the right type I'd rig up a switch.

Then I'd suspect a tube, though there appear to be transistors in the trem circuit.

Next I'd look at the LDR assembly. They don't last forever (unless this one uses an LED?).

the footswitch will change the channel though, so it doesn't completely not work. and, the trem doesn't work without the footswitch...not change in tone, volume, and no hissing or anything when i fiddle with the trem pots. that would make me think maybe the pots or some kind of transistor/switch or something in the trem path. idk...I know that i don;t feel like opening it, and i won;t use the dirty channel, and i have heard the trem on these suck, so i might just buy or build a byoc trem and be done with it...uggh. thanks Don.

Again: big suspect is the footswitch - if it doesn't work without the FS that only means it's not switched on.

    JJ -
if it needs repair - let me know - I know a guy - closer your way thatn where I am in Dover (top notch - but may take a little while), but also one here in Dover maybe a little cheaper, but you would need to drive it to him (Maybe smyrna - Mikes famous - at work).

Try the foot switch first though - email me off line of you need contact info.

I just sold mine maybe a month ago.

    I'd suspect the footswitch.
I honestly can't remember if there's a way to operate the trem w/o the switch. Since it plugged into the underside of the chassis, I always left mine plugged in.
I seem to remember folks saying the trem was SS.
