    American Vintage '52 w/white pickguard

I'm going to check out an American Vintage '52 Tele with a white pickguard. I checked Fender website, and they specify a black pickguard. I know the pickguard is easily changed. My question is.. Does the American Vintage '52 Tele come new from the factory with a white pickguard? Maybe the seller is not sure of the exact model. Have you seen new AM '52 Tele with white pickguard? Let me know.

yep, it's either been changed, or the seller doesn't know what he's selling.

Fender did do a couple of runs of "special" versions of the AV '52 in both 2-color burst and black with white pickguards back in the 1990s. However, if it is the butterscotch finish then it should be a black guard.

Thanks for the replies. I haven't been to check it out yet, it is indeed butterscotch in color. It has three brass saddles and vintage type tuners.

There was also a run of "coppercasters." Those looked really sharp.
