A few months back I picked up a new ac15cc. After a little effort (very little) I found what for me is the amps sweet spot. Basically I set the volumes at 12o'oclock, with the bass and treble set at 1 and 11 respectively. The result is a singing tone that brakes up when I pick hard, and cleans up when I pick softly.
Heres the rub, when I go much past 12 o' clock on the volumes, the dynamics change. Would lower gain preamp tubes allow me to get this kind of response at higher volumes?
Thank you.
