Damn Sunday night gigs! If it were Saturday night I'd come down...
Dude, you don't need to work on Monday....
Sorry, I'd have to travel 3K to get there.
Sunday afternoon, I'm sitting in with a friends band. Playing on the beach 2-6......
But I'd still come hang with you Wil, if I had the travel time.

No dice Kap, I work in manual labor. My wife has the day off, though...
Sounds like you both have a fun 3-day weekend to look forward to though! :
Nah, no time and a half, but it's actually a pretty good company to work for- benefits are great, nice little Christmas bonus, I actually don't have to work weekends very often at all, and you can't beat the office...
Still sucks to work while everyone is sleeping in, though
Here's where the bar is (isn't technology wonderful?):
I know where that is, that's a cool area... dammit, I wish I could make it....
Im playing in Vancouver WA and wish I could go anywhere else
Wha!!!
OK, I just took the day off.
No seriously, I worked a half day today, and just before we went home, I mentioned something about re-checking something on Monday, and my boss corrected me, "Tuesday"... I guess I do have the holiday off...so I'm coming down!
Looking foward to it.
OK, so my Sunday gig isn't nearly as cool.
But it's still a nice location.
And I get a free prime rib dinner.

The NARDS rock!!!
They sounded really good, played a bunch of classic rock/80's tunes that blew the roof off the place. One guy in the crowd was getting particularly excited about I think it was the Talking Heads, pumping his fists in the air and screaming like a jackass.
And let me tell you, Wilko can really play and sing his ass off! I was particularly impressed with their version of "Maybe I'm Amazed". I was a little skeptical about a band pulling that one off without a piano, but it sounded killer, and Rick nailed every note. He's a really cool guy too, and he called me up onstage for a couple of Tom Petty songs--my first gig in 5 years, lol (I didn't get a chance to thank his bandmates for risking that.) He was even so kind as to let me give the infamous "Pepto-Strat" a test-run and I have to say I was quite impressed. The thing played real smooth and of course sounded amazing through a Deluxe Reverb, which I think was an original(?)
I kind of butchered 'American Girl' at the end though, as soon as the lead part with those hammer-pull-offs came up, I realized I didn't actually know how to play it so I just tried to improvise from there. Never played that song with a band before, and I thought I knew it better than that! The whole band sounded really tight on every song though, they were all great musicians, and I had blast playing with them.
All in all we had a lot of fun, (despite some college-age punk trying to hit on my wife, then trying to fight me), If you ever get the chance to check out Wilko's band live I recommend it.
Thanks again Rick for a great time.
Sounds like a great time!

Wow. Thems real nice words.
Boobtube, thanks for that nice review. We're always happy when folks enjoy the show. It was very nice to have a forum member come out. Oh, and you gotta be used to guys hitting on your woman. She's a very attractive girl and a real keeper.
You guys are good people.
I'm glad you got to get up and play a couple with us.
Tight? I don't think so. We were using a fill-in drummer who hasn't played in several years.
I don't know, he sounded good to me. Maybe that's because I haven't played out in several years.
Either way, thanks again for having me up there, and make sure you tell your boys thanks for me too, I didn't get much of a chance to talk to any of them. And yeah, I've had to pull guys off Sam before, that's why I stuck to her like glue most of the night.
