    Mid 90's Squier Protone Strat??

I just got a chance to play one last night at band practice. I guess it is made in Korea in the mid 90's....Are all of these protones as nice as the one I played? As far as Squiers do, it seemed head and shoulders above the rest. Thanks for any info/insight. LB.

They were very nice guitars. They were fairly expensive new. I think the street price was $300-$350. I had a blonde '97 that I bought used for $150 for a few years.

Once I replaced the 500k volume and tone pots with 250k pots the original alnico pickups even sounded nice.

The finish on the neck felt very thin and natural, almost like it wasn't there. It was the best feeling factory neck finish that I ever felt on a Fender the downside being that it got dirty and wore easily.

The only thing that I didn't like about it was the skinny neck.
