    80's Fender Concert

I have a Fender Concert. 60watts with a 1X12 EV and the cabinet is all natural Oak. I bought it new at Gelb Music in Redwood City Ca in the early 80's. I still have the instruction book that came with suggested volume and tone presets.

Does anyone else have one of these and was it a special run

    Thanks

I had an '81 Concert 4-10 in the early '80s.

I remember the 1-12 being available at the time too. I don't believe they were a special run.

We discuss these fairly often here. A search of the amplifier section of the forum should yeild a lot of info.

The guy (alec) who runs the site below may be able to tell you, he's been cataloguing all Rivera era amps and is pretty knowledgeable. I have 2 Concerts but didn't know about the oak cab version.
Don - I'm guessing that goldtop was specifically referring to the oak cab version.

I seem to recall that there was a short run of these and Super Champs with oak cabinets.

IIRC, the source was one of the Aspen Pittman Groove Tubes books, so don't expect it to be any more accurate than anything else in there.

Yes I was interested in knowing about the Oak Cabinet models

Mine also has a brown speaker cover, brown face and brown knobs.....

    Plus the EV

I was wondering how many where made and if anyone else had one

I missed the oak cab reference in you post.
That'd probably be a limited run!

Richie Fliegler says in his book "Amps", that 100 each of these were built.(Super Champ and Concert in natural wood cabs).

Ritchie still worked for Marshall when that book was written, so he may not have had the inside scoop.

Yeah, maybe, but apart from that I've read somewhere else that these amps were kind of a limited special run and very sought after.
