    Finger-ease

Have any of you people tryed this stuff?
I used it on my strat that has a rosewood fret board,
It helps with that string squeek, but it put like a shiney finish over
the fret board,I tryed lemon oil on the fret board,it didnt seem to remove it.
will it harm the fret board?
    Thank you,Tommy J.

    Re: Finger-ease

Finger-ease does that. I don't think it's permanently damaged the rosewood, but it will take a couple applications of lemon oil to get it off.

I used it with maple neck guitars with more luck, but honestly, every time I sprayed it I felt like I was inhaling really bad stuff.

    Re: Finger-ease

I've just never been fond of that stuff.
Why not just dip your finger in Vaseline before you play?
    Spray them with PAM?
    Smear graphite on your fingertips?

BTW, Tommy...make sure the Lemon Oil you're using doesn't have petroleum distilates.....

I highly recommend using Fret Doctor on your fretboard.

I bought a 60mL bottle about 2 years ago. I go through a lot of guitars and treat everyone with Fret Doctor. I've only used about a tenth of the bottle.

    Try it....you won't regret it.

    Re: Finger-ease

Mineral spirits and a toothbrush will remove it.

After you get it off, toss the finger ease in the trash and vow to stop falling for marketing hype.

    You can thank me later.

    Re: Finger-ease

    Thanks Tele,
    It worked...
I had to go to lowes to get it ,but it worked..
I soaked a coton ball with it,rubbed the board down really good..
Then I used a soft tooth brush soaked..
It's off there now,I tossed that shinoly in the trash..
It faded the rosewood,so then I applyed the lemon oil,
I let it sit for 30 mins or so.
    BINGO!!!
Look's great now,it look's better than it did when I bought it.
    Thank's Man.....

No problem. My work for today is complete.

I figure if I can save just one poor sole, then I've done something constructive.

I tried to save Frank, but it did no good.

I still like the chicken technique. If I play slide with just the chicken bone do the same thing or do I still need the chicken on it.

Yeah, this one lost it's legs eons ago.
Maybe it should be moved to the bass forum.

    No way, man.
You can't lure me into bad fish pun binge.

Last time I fell for a line like that I ended up kelplessly outta tuna. My scales were seriously diminished. I had to borrow a few fins from this guy, Cal Amari, a lone shark, so I could go to the doctor. My scallop was really dry and itchy. I thought I was in urchin need a plastic sturgeon. Turns out it was a minor case of the clams. My gillfriend was not pleased. I really miss Sushi.

You have nothing to fear from Cal Amari. I hear he sleeps with the fishes.

Or maybe they said he just sleeps with fishes. Well, anyway, it was something like that.
