    Monkey Business

Just letting you know: Following selected comments by some of you, I bought a Bad Monkey today. For $85 CAD it's a great piece of cool tones:

Every forum has or has had it's "Bad Monkey" thread. I bought one, and returned it. It's a great $40 pedal. I'm over it.

Yep. It's not going to replace my Fulldrive 2 but it sure is a lot of fun. The FD2 is going to get welded to my pedalboard but if there's ever a situation where the full pedalboard doesn't come along, I'll happily go with just a Bad Monkey.
    s'all goof.

BM works for me 100%. The idea was to have a pedal to go with my SF Champ when we go to a cottage and I don't want to take my acoustic and play N. Young and "Dirty Old Town" over and over again.

I like it. I wrote a review on it if you care to read it.

I find it works well WITH my tubescreamer, but will not replace it.
It works really well with Wah pedals, and it also sounds great into my son's Valvetronix. It actually sounds better into the Valvetronix than teh Tubescreamer does. Certain situations, it just sounds better, but not all situations.

    Well for me, at least..

Listen to this guy. Best OD bang for the buck to come along since the 80`s. I got modded TS9`s, and booteek hand built 808 clones, and this little pedal kicks their collective asses. And Fulldrives are a waste of money.

    For you, perhaps...

Tone is in the fingers, eh? Let's hear your Vox, Marshall and Fender fingerings then...

Hold on there, sparky. I wouldn't say that the Fulldrive is a waste of money. That is a seriously kick-ass pedal. It's the ONLY pedal to remain on my constantly shifting pedalboard from the day I got one about five years ago.

The Bad Monkey is a fine, fine pedal and its price is simply astonishing. But it's no Fulldrive slayer.

even if you don't like or need the mixer output on the bad monkey, i use mine to go into the input of a boss tu-12 tuner, this way i'm not actually going through the tuner and altering the sound

How is that pedal on batteries? My DigiTech Main Squeeze compressor is a battery hog. It'll eat a super-duper whizbang energizer battery (the new kind) in less than 2 hours.

That's because the Main Squeeze is a digital pedal. Digital stuff always uses mondo juice. The Bad Monkey is analog, and very low battery drain.
