    Newbie Q re amp into PA...

    Not used to doing live PA type gigs. Doing an outdoor show next month. Q is do i have to mic my little 1x12 combo into the PA or can i run a line out from the amp directly into the PA by passing any guitar amp spkr...?

    If your amp has a line out, you can do either, or both (depending on the amp). Some amps won't cut out the speaker when there is a line output connected, some will. Remeber that a line out will not sound the same as mic'ing the speaker, since no speaker would be involved. This might be desirable, or may not. In my experience, if you require feedback for your music, you might want to stick with a mic because feedback through a line out sounds more sterile. If you don't want feedback at all, then line out is a good choice.

    Just don't try disconnecting the speaker and plugging the PA's input into the normal speaker output. Bad, bad, bad idea.
