    Gald to hear it!

How are the pickups? Is it pretty much as you want it or could you see yourself upgrading them?

Also, how's the neck? The reason I ask is that I have a Dan Smith Strat which is an awesome guitar but the neck is too thin for me....

Hell no!! No plans of changing mine. :-) Sound perfect to me. As far as the neck goes I really can't say for sure because i haven't played the one you describe. Plus I am a person who has no trouble adapting to neck size or fret size. I have an EJ with a big neck and the regular '62 RI with thin neck and small frets and love both. My Nocaster has a huge neck with little frets and I love it also. I just learned to adapt.

44 don't hold yer breath for a fat neck. I bought an oly white thinskin from daves, and sent it back because the neck was pretty thin and square!. It's like a regular, thin 62 and then they flatten the back. Wildwood's description is right on, thin with more shoulder. It results in a squarish feel and I really didn't like it.

I wasn't even being that picky, before I got it thinking even if it's a bit thin, I'll be happy. But the squareness was just too much. I hope you get lucky and get one they overlooked 44.

I sent it back and asked Dave to pick the oly white with the fattest neck, he said that was probably the one I had sent back!

    Thanks dude,

That's a shame....I've got a 62 MIJ Tele which I like very much, so I'm hoping it's similar to that.....

The MIJ necks are thicker than USA vintage and MIM Classic series are also thicker than USA vintage. IN other words the USA vintage necks are too thin for alot of people some people really like em tho.

I would say that they are thinner than the new american series but I really like all neck shapes. It doesn't bother my playing at all but then again I have 9 differnt Fenders. I think that most people should just give it a little time to adapt to a differnet feel. Most people tend to like what they first played on.

    LOL!

I hope so....Dave's are cool about returns if not BUT!!! I'd still be down the import duty of £190 !! GAH!...... and return shipping, ........PLUS I won't get the shipping it cost to get it here refunded!!

I could be out by £500 if I can't get along with this neck *sob*

At that price I think I'd be better off putting the neck on ebay and buy one from Warmoth.....a big baseball bat!!

Very nice. I'm sure it will wear well. That's what I love about the thin skin guitars....lots of character with less time than poly.

    Thanks everyone!!

    LOL stratoclutter!

This guitar was bought to be played, and although the thought of getting it's first ding is a heartbreaker, she's gonna be a working guitar!

I was happy to deal with Dave's too, very good service

with that thin skin finsh it's first dent is about 15 minutees away. you wont even notice you've done it. all part of the fun though.

I know this is a Strat post, but I put a deposit on a 52 thin skin Tele today.
    6.1lbs of pure tone!
Played a few Strats as well and everyone was as good as the Teles (about 6) that I played.
