    New 06 MIM Standard Question

So I finally picked it up yesterday! (Pics coming). I changed the stock strings from 9s to 11s. But when I went to tune it, the bridge pulled up... and up ... and up. I took the tension off and let it sit.

Should I add more springs or is there something else I can do?

You can certaintly add springs, but it isn't always neccessary. You can also screw the claw deeper into the body (two screws attached to a piece of metal called that the springs get connected to).

Ah, I was wondering about that, but I wasn't sure. I'll give that a go! Thanks..

Here is a thread that describes my procedure (and a few others) for setting up a strat:

That is a little more in depth.

    Rock on! Sounds easy enough.
